Dental Sleep Medicine For Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Untreated, Obstructive Sleep Apnea can cause high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, memory problems, weight gain and head aches. It may also be responsible for job impairment and motor vehicle collisions. Fortuntely, Obstructive Sleep Apnea can be treated in our office.
Oral Sleep Apnea Appliances
The EMA -
One of the most comfortable of the oral appliances for sleep treatments of sleep apnea and snoring. It is made with a very thin and comfortable material, along with elastic bands that allow for a good range of motion; with the ability to easily speak and drink while the appliance is in place.
The Herbst -
This appliance allows patients to move laterally and vertically without disengaging the appliance. Also, if it is determined that the initial position does not provide the anticipated relief of the condition, the mandible(lower jaw) can easily be moved forward by two options of adjustability.
SomnoMed (Mandibular Dorsal Fin Appliance) -
A relatively new appliance on the market. Its strong point is the fact that it is very smooth and comfortable. It is unique in that the upper and lower component of the appliance are not connected, as with other appliances. This allows for full opening of the mouth. The SomnoMed can also be adjusted.
The Lamberg (Sleep-Well Appliance) -
The Lamberg Sleep Well Appliance keeps the airway open by holding the jaw and tongue in a comfortable forward position. Additionally the appliance causes a tightening of the soft tissues and muscles of the upper airway, especially the soft palate. This combination is what stops the snoring. Patients adapt to this very easily.

ProSomnus Sleep Technologies manufactures FDA approved oral sleep apnea devices to treat obstructive sleep apnea. They provide many different solutions to enhance and achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Our office can also help patients who need a treatment compliance report for their work place with DentiTrac®.

We can provide the needed compliance report that has been used with a CPAP machine for years. This great technology is now available to you in an oral sleep apnea appliance.
